My Journey

My name is Jasmine Collins. I am originally from the beautiful country Costa Rica, among white beaches and jungles, embraced by the smell of fresh brewed coffee, and a strong love and respect for the sanctity and preservation of our environment.  My passion for art has been passed down from generations of bohemians, musicians and artist; blood that runs deep in my veins.  I began painting with coffee as a child sitting on the kitchen table drinking coffee and creating.  I have explored many avenues of art.  I have concentrated my studies in charcoal, Coffee painting and sculpture, pursuing the perfection of movement, shadow and light.  One of my favorite places to be is the coffee shop.  Often times we approach these places, we buy the coffee and run.   We drink the coffee for the effect, but often times forget to enjoy the flavor and the feel.  I created these coffee paintings to invite you to sit, and enjoy the journey to really taste the flavor of life.  To look at those little moments that life gives us, and often times forget to savor.   I paint and sculpt Feelings!  My hope is for you to relate in some way to my heart, and if my art makes you think, feel, dream, smile or cry, then I have accomplished my purpose as an artist.  My wish is that you would allow me to converge again. I leave you with my favorite quote from Gabriela Mistral “What the Spirit is to the Body, so is the artist is to her people.”
